Converting Photographs to Drawings
This is the original scanned photo of the house used as an office by
the National Criminal Defense College (NCDC). As you can see, there are
power lines and a car in this image.
Corel PhotoPaint was used to digitally remove the power lines and the
car from the image. Since the original image was also a little tilted,
the first thing done was to straighten it out a bit. It was then treated
with several different filters from PhotoPaint and Adobe Photoshop to
make the image appear to be a line or charcoal drawing, as well as providing
the image with a more antiquated and stylized appearance. Finally, the
image was darkened to blend with the overall site design.
